What tool would you take with you to a desert island?

If you could choose any tool you want, but only one, which would you take?

I bet most people would take simple but general tools – a knife, a hammer, an axe, a rope, perhaps a screwdriver.

A universal tool

multitool

English is a tool too. But, are words the same?

Is there a universal English word? A word you could take with you to a place where people speak only English?

A dictionary is like a toolbox

There are a few of them actually. If you are more than a complete beginner, you know them all.

One such word is GET. In fact, it is one of the most common words in English. In the list of the most ‘popular’ English words, it sits somewhere between the 39th and 47th place. Not bad!

Would you read a dictionary?

Simply, we use it all the time.

So, if you dont know the proper word for an action or something happening, your best bet is GET.

You will get it right in about 7 out of 10. Get my point?
